Here at It Started in the North, we don’t take ourselves too seriously. Founded by a southerner in Edinburgh, our business is based on our love of clothes, music, and football. Much of our inspiration naturally comes from the Mods, the Casuals, Skinheads, Suedeheads, Scooterboys, and more, yet we are focused on forging a contemporary take on these styles and scenes.
We take pride in stocking some of the most famous brands associated with the various UK subcultures of the last 50 years, and we feel equally privileged to work with a number of independent Scottish brands who share our passions and ethos. We don’t claim to have the biggest selection of stock. Instead, we choose to present a carefully curated selection based exclusively on our own tastes. We sell clothes we wear, records we listen to, and books we read.
Our team is made up of just three people: Brett, Lewis & Harry. We love what we do and work hard to ensure that all customers receive the best possible service when ordering and/or communicating with us.
